Targa Tasmania 2010

Today was the prologue for Targa Tasmania. Ray and Michael finished the day 7th in Showroom Category. The prologue sets the seeding for the event for the next five days. Matt Harriott was in the top 10 in Early Modern codriving for Ernie Fuller. To check on results for the event, check the event website at www.targa.org.au

The event proper starts early Wednesday morning with 8 stages to the North of Launceston with a lunch break in the Town of Murals Sheffield. Targa Sponsors Day 2010

This has to be one of the strongest Targa fields in years, will be interesting to follow the times of the likes of Whitey in his Lambo and Richards in his new GT3 RS. Great to be able to catch up with so many friends during the event, It took me 15 mins to get to the bar last night as catching up with many of my targa friends:)

So plenty happening, keep checking the site I have mentioned above for results and hopefully we can have some good results. Also check out Youtube video of prologue Prologue video

2010 Here we go!!

Yep it's been a hectic few weeks. Back from Tassie after Targa Wrest Point. Finished 8th in Class out of 14 and 70th outright. Was the strongest field I've seen for a Tarmac rally, can't wait for Targa Tasmania to see how strong that will be. A big announcement from Octagon about Targa High Country. This is a new event to be run out of Mt Buller with some great regional roads out of Mansfield being used. Can't wait to traverse the Mansfield to Whitfield Rd.

We are working madly on the Charade to be ready for its shakedown at the No Booma Khanacross on the 6th of March followed by the hillclimb the next weekend. The team is also working on preparing for the Appliance Installation Stages with our team manager and Crew Chief Steve Nightingale sponsoring the event. Media day will be held on Sunday 21st Steve Andrewof March with the event kicking off on Friday night the 26th of March. Andrew will be codriving for Russell Battison in the debut of the new MX5 Turbo and I will be codriving for Graeme Shaw in the EVO 6.5.

Another project we have been working on is Andrew's Charade, it's a 4 door 1.3lt 4 cyl that is taking shape. Once my Charade is ready to go we will have Andrew's car in the workshop on the rotisserie. Hope to have it ready mid year. Also have to finish Steve's Escort as well, so there's no shortage of work to do. Have to make sure that the fridge is well stocked. Kirrilee has been helping out as well and will be on the team for servicing this year and will have another go at RDF.

I've got a few photos of the guys at work over the last couple of weeks:)
